Course Description
This in-depth program provides essential training in the foundations of Western Herbalism with a total of 459 hours of study. The core curriculum was created by Paul Bergner for the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. Completion of the Footprints in Medical Herbalism program grants students a certificate from ASHM for 279 hours of class time and 24 hours of lab time, plus an additional certificate from NAIMH for 156 self-study hours.
Overview of the Footprints Program
Course Materials from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism are required for this program. This single flash drive contains the entire library of clinical and classical texts, articles, slides, Medical Herbalism Journals, and the personal notes of Paul Bergner.
The Footprints Program has 4 main components to the curriculum. These are the three Courses that make up the Foundations program at NAIMH and the Traditional Herbalism skillset:

Class Materials
1) NAIMH Foundations Flash Drive
A data drive of course study material is to be purchased on your first day of class. These materials come on a large capacity flash drive and include: audio recorded lectures with Paul Bergner for each of the main courses, course study guides, lecture notes, and a PDF Library of herbal references and classic texts. A complete copy of the NAIMH Actions Database of 150 herbs, and an abridged PDF copy of the Healing Power of Mineralsand Trace Elements by Paul Bergner. Classical texts in medical herbalism, more than 800 pages of article reprints from the Medical Herbalism Journal, a PDF copy of The Healing Power of Ginseng and Tonic Herbs and The Folk Remedy Database, both by Paul Bergner. This drive inserts into a USB port on any computer. The cost of this Required Class Material is in addition to tuition.
2) Supplies
All medicine making supplies are stocked at the school and available for class use. These include bottles, menstruums (oil, alcohol, honey, vinegar, etc.), jars, herbs, labels, strainers, scales, grinders, measuring devices, and all the things an herbal pharmacy needs. A supplies fee is required to cover the cost of these items used and dispensed in class. Students will take home finished tinctures, herb infused oils, syrups, salves, tea formulas, fire cider, etc. The supply fee also covers the cost of any parking fees and State Park fees (needed for some herb walks), a botany loop, and hundreds of pages of spiral bound printed notes. The required Supplies fee is in addition to tuition.
