Want to align your career with your values? Seeking the skills to become a professional permaculture practitioner? Looking for a community of partners and mentors? Program Purpose: The Ecological Landscaper Immersion (affectionately know as ELI) was created to empower the next generation of aspiring professional land stewards with a foundation of ecological literacy, practical landscaping and design skills, combined with personal and professional development. Graduates are able to align their unique strengths and interests into vocations that increase the life-supporting capacity of landscapes. Program Overview: Learn from leading-edge permaculture professionals and gain the skills to earn a living regenerating the planet. This 6-month advanced skills training is designed for those interested in working with landscapes in a variety of ways - landscape professionals, land managers and land-based entrepreneurs. ELI empowers participants through hands-on experience and proactive engagements with real-world projects. From backyards to broadacre, you’ll gain ecological problem solving skills for creating resilient systems for water, soil, plants, and animals that integrate community and economy in a way that fosters the increasing well-being of the whole system. ELI supports those interested in taking their use of permaculture from hobby to vocation. In addition to learning skills to design and build ecologically literate human settlements, ELI provides personal and professional development training. With the guidance of a teaching team that represents decades of collective experience as professional permaculture practitioners, you’ll start to clarify your own professional niche that is supported by strategies for earning right livelihood. The program culminates with an individual Capstone Project, during which participants synthesize their skills and passions into tangible next steps in their professional development with the support of mentors – whether it’s starting or growing a business, getting a job you love, teaching these skills to others or going deeper with research or continued education.
